Chrome Plugins and Extensions

Here's a handy list for software tester of Chrome Plugins and Extensions that you might find useful.

  • Accessibility Developer Tools — This extension will add an Accessibility audit, and an Accessibility sidebar pane in the Elements tab
  • AdBlock — Gets rid of ads.
  • Advanced REST Client — If you are testing a RESTful API and you want to create and test custom API requests then this is a helpful extension. Not as feature rich as Postman but easier to get started with.
  • Analyze Page Performance — Measure page load times and other areas of page performance with this extension. 
  • ARIA Validator — Validate the ARIA implementation of the HTML page you are viewing 
  • Awesome Screenshot  — Capture all or part of any web page
  • BlazeMeter Chrome Extension — Record all HTTP traffic and create a load test in less than 10 minutes 
  • Bug Magnet — Convenient access to common problematic values and edge cases 
  • Check My Links —  A link checker that crawls through your webpage and looks for broken links.
  • Chrome Developer Tools - The Chrome DevTools are a set of web authoring and debugging tools built into Google Chrome. Use the DevTools to iterate, debug and profile your site
  • Clear Cache — Clear the cache when testing a website.
  • D3coder — Encoding/Decoding Plugin for various types of encoding like base64, rot13 or unix timestamp conversion
  • Domain Hunter Plus — Scans the current tab for dead links and available domain names.
  • Edit This Cookie — To improve performance of Google Chrome/Opera, EditThisCookie can be set to automatically reduce the expiration dates of cookies, so that all those website you visited months ago don't keep slowing your browser

  • Pixel Perfect — This extension helps develop your websites with per pixel accuracy!
  • Pushbullet — Enabling you to push links and data between devices saves vital seconds. 
  • RegExp Tester app — RegExp Tester Application for Google Chrome. Test your regular expressions on the fly — 
  • Resolution Test — An extension for developers to test web pages in different screen resolutions, with an option to define your own resolutions 
  • REST console — REST Console is an HTTP Request Visualizer and Constructor tool, helps developers build, debug and test RESTful APIs
  • Resteasy — A RESTful API testing extension.
  • ScreenCastify — Screencastify is a simple video screen capture software for Chrome.
  • Site Spider — index an entire site

  • User Agent Switcher —  Spoofs & Mimics User-Agent strings.

  • Web Developer — A port of the useful Firefox extension, Web Developer offers a variety of different web developer tools via an added toolbar.

  • WhatFont — The easiest way to identify fonts on web pages.
  • Xmarks — Backup and sync your bookmarks and open tabs across computers and browsers. Xmarks is also available for Firefox, Safari and IE.
