QA Engineer - manual and automation

The Role
The role is fast-paced and varied and needs someone who is comfortable handling several projects at once, meaning you’ll never be bored! 

The team is small, but motivated and highly technical, and are looking for someone to come in and hit the ground running, pull their weight and offer opinions into how to make the testing function more efficient. 

Moving away from only manual testing, the company have quickly implemented an automation testing function, with a focus on Agile testers who are confident in writing the code (C#) necessary for the automation testing. 

Day-to-day duties include writing manual and automation test scripts from scratch, deciding on functional and non-functional requirements as well as performing exploratory and regression testing. 

You will be a confident communicator, as the team are keen to get someone in who is able to research and offer findings on how to best move forward with the testing function as well as being someone who understands automation testing and how it is set up. 

You’ll be able to make straight-forward code changes and create automation test scripts from scratch. An ability to edit and maintain an automation framework would be a bonus.  

You will also have most of the following skills/experience: 
  • Agile environment
  • Manual and automation testing skills
  • Automation testing using Selenium or Protractor
  • C# and/or TypeScript experience
  • Database testing skills
  • An ability to create or edit automation frameworks would be an added bonus
  • Continuous build experience
  • Testing web-based, desktop-based and cloud-based applications
  • Handle several projects at once

The company are in a state of transformation at the moment – moving from legacy products to predominantly Azure based web-applications, to ensure their range of products are as current as possible.

Salary and Location
Based in the centre of town, the office is easily accessible via public transport, in modern offices. The company are looking to offer between £30,000 - £40,000, and also offer an annual bonus and strong benefits package on top of this.
