How to Break Performance Testing Silos
Performance testing has been siloed away from development due to the need for specialized skills and tools. New low-code approaches help teams take ownership over performance – and non-functional app quality.

Last week's This Week in Testing discussion centred around worth.Β Β

How can we as testing professionals continue to demonstrate our value? And how can we be rewarded accordingly? This theme comes up a lot in the testing community – a sense of feeling less valued when we compare ourselves to our developer colleagues who might be paid more. It was a good discussion, and while not recorded, I'll aim to write up my notes so keep your eyes and ears out for that. In the meantime, have a read of what Callum Akehurst-Ryan has been sharing about why we have to sell testing into an organisation.Β

There are many ways to support your career right now. For example, you could join 30 Days of Career Growth.Β Thank you to everyone who is already deep in the woods of the challenge – you'll inspire more folks to get involved. πŸŽ‰

You could also get yourself to a modern-day physical conference, like TestBash UK 2023. Richard Bradshaw, the CEO BossBoss of Ministry of Testing, shares an important message about the changing landscape of physical conferences.

Erin Donnelly answered countless questions about how to get hired. She debunked a lot of myths too. Apparently, there is no keyword robot sifting through our CVs!Β Here are my notes. The recording will be available soon via the AMA recordings page. πŸ‘€πŸ‘‚

One final thing. If you've not been on our forum for a while, please visitΒ The Club. It now has chat enabled and a dedicated space to ask questions. We're in the process of overhauling The Club to simplify and improve the experience for all community members. Read more.
