One Order ID. Two Test Tools. Who Connects the Dots?
04 Nov 2026
A customer places an order. The API returns an order ID. The confirmation page appears.
Now for the interesting question: **does the page show the order that was actually created?**
If your API and UI tests run in separate tools, answering that can take more than two passing results. Someone has to carry the ID between tests, keep the data in sync, and piece together the failure when the numbers don’t match.
Our article follows that order ID across the API and UI, and shows what changes when both steps belong to one test flow.
Follow the order ID and see where separate tests lose the connection
