MoT Manchester
MoT Manchester Chapter first gathering of the year!
We're very excited to welcome you all again to another evening of quality conversations, laughs, great insights and of course some food and drinks. We are currently in the process of finalising the program for this evening, but we can guarantee that it will be a memorable one.
What to expect so far:
System design interview for test engineers by Sarah Al-Hawi
Software engineering guidelines and textbooks, etc., are generally written with engineers in mind, but how about when you want to understand these principles from a test engineering point of view?
My talk will be around presenting a simple system design architecture that an engineer might be assessed on in an interview, but I will look at it from a testing perspective and what needs to be tested/not etc. With the addition of a little chaos.
AI for Testing vs Testing AI by Siddharth Goyal
This talk explores the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence and software testing, focusing on the distinction between AI in Testing and Testing of AI systems. As AI technologies become more integrated into modern applications, they are not only helping improve testing processes—through capabilities like intelligent test generation, defect prediction, and self-healing automation—but also introducing new systems that require specialised testing approaches.
The session discusses why testing AI systems is fundamentally different from traditional software testing, highlighting challenges such as data dependency, probabilistic behaviour, model bias, and model drift. Through practical examples and testing frameworks, the talk outlines how Quality Engineers can effectively validate AI systems across the data, model, system, and monitoring lifecycle, ensuring reliability, fairness, and trust in AI-driven applications.
99 Second Talks
Our world-famous (yes they are!) 99 Second talks are the perfect opportunity for you to come on stage and talk for, that's right, 99 seconds.
Anyone can talk about anything, a quality topic you want to share, a personal experience, or an idea sparked by a conversation you just had... the stage is yours, for 99 seconds!
This is also a great opportunity for you to kick-start your public speaking experience and/or give it a boost.
