With 20+ years in software testing, I’ve worked across waterfall, agile and everything between - occasionally following the recognised methodology!
Mostly I've focussed on aiming to do the best I can with regards to delivering quality software whilst wearing whatever "hat" best helps do that, whether that is to be scrum-master; analyst or tester all with a view on embedding quality in the delivery.
