Automation In Testing: Designing Automated Checks
What
99 Minute WorkshopDescription
There are many things we have to consider when designing automated checks. Sometimes the majority of the information you need is provided in the form of test cases or acceptance criteria. Other times we are designing the automated check as we are implementing it. However, in order to provide value as quickly as possible it’s important to make sure we have all the information we require to speed up the creation of the automated check.
In this workshop Richard and Mark will introduce you to the SACRED model. The SACRED model is a model that breaks down the key parts of an automated check into State, Actions, Codified Oracles, Reporting, Execution and Deterministic. We’ll work our way through the model to understand how our design should infer our tools and how each section requires a different set of skills.
Takeaways
- Describe the anatomy of an automated check
- Design an automated check using the SACRED model
- Discover new libraries and frameworks to assist automated checking
