99 Minute Workshop

Exploring Quality

with Dan Ashby

What You'll Learn

By the end of this workshop you'll be able to:

  • Explain different methods of reporting quality to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate the relationship between testing and quality.
  • Outline different perspectives of quality.

About This Workshop

It's fairly common in the software world for people to see quality as relating to the software "working as expected". This perspective of quality relates directly to correctness. But the users of software see quality as more than just being correctness. They also care about the goodness of the emotive experience of using the software and the overall usefulness of the software in terms of it's value and worth for them. So quality consists of all 3 lenses of correctness, goodness and usefulness, right?

But how do you assess quality from these 3 aspects? And how do you overcome the subjectiveness and report on the assessment of quality from your testing? These are challenging questions that this workshop will help provide some ideas on how to answer.

So bring an open mind, and step into your learning zone to explore the depths of quality; what it is, how we can assess it through our testing, and how we can display a measure of it for our stakeholders.

This workshop has been designed to be attended live. If you can’t make the scheduled time, it will stay available to replay in CrowdCast for 7 days. To get the most out of it, we highly recommend you attend it live!
