In this Masterclass webinar, I'm going to share how I test multiple system layers with confidence. Software systems comprise multiple components, deployed and operating over multiple layers, all working together to deliver a product to the end users. Thankfully, you don’t need to be an expert at every layer of the stack to bring the benefits of Full Stack Testing to your team.
Together, we will explore some common technology stacks used to build and operate software. I will introduce a model to help you identify gaps in your knowledge across the layers and provide some recipes to help you fill them with collaborative testing.
Takeaways
- Software systems are made up of smaller parts that operate over multiple layers that provide a user interface, business logic, and persistence
- You model the different parts of a software system and overlay them with extra information, even simple emojis, to help identify gaps in your knowledge.
- You can reduce risk and improve quality by collaborating with others in your team, and other teams, while you learn more about the system yourself.
What's Being Covered
After this event you should be able to do the following:
- Recognise the different layers that make up common software technology stacks
- Identify gaps in your knowledge of a system under test using a model
- Plan a collaborative testing session to fill one of those gaps
