Test oriented architecture

Test oriented architecture image
Definition: Test oriented architecture is designing systems and tooling so that the right quality data can be collected, identified and analysed, including from production. It treats testability and observability as architectural concerns rather than afterthoughts.

So what? TestOps only works if the system produces useful data. Building that in from the start makes it possible to run tests in production, monitor meaningful signals and connect them to product quality.

Examples: Designing services so test transactions can be identified and separated from real user data. Building the tools that collect, monitor and analyse the production data signal.
