On the 28th February 2018, testers joined the fifth Ministry of TestingĀ #TestChatĀ to discuss all things Device Testing. Our questions were designed by Ćine McGovern and Heather Reid.
We had four questions during the live chat:
- How do you decide what devices to test on? How do you prioritise those devices?
- How does your mindset differ based on the device youāre testing on? For example, for mobile testing you need to test for recoverability after signal loss. Do you have particular heuristics you use for each?
- What does your device testing lab look like? Do you use physical devices? Or Emulators, cloud, simulators?
- What has been your most interesting bug discovery while device testing?
There was a lot of interesting discussionĀ happening around how best to tackle Device testing, it was wonderful to see so many different ideas and knowledge shared.Ā I encourage you to read theĀ full transcriptĀ and continue to vote on theĀ responses. Also, keep an eye on ourĀ events pageĀ for future #TestChats.
If reading through the chat inspires you, head over toĀ The ClubĀ and post some of your own questions on the Exploratory Testing thread.
Take this 7-question assessment to see where your QA team stands and get a plan for what to automate next.
