Tester Obsolescence: How to Compete in a Modern QA Job Market

Modern software testing would be nearly unrecognizable to someone from a decade ago. Advancements in technologies are transforming user experience, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and elevating the need for quality in many dimensions.

The emergence of technology like AI and the integration of CI/CD tools to accelerate the software development lifecycle have had widespread implications across QA. To overcome this, automation is now an essential need and the adoption of methodologies like Agile and shift left testing is the default. All of this comes together to mean that nowadays, there’s a lot more to learn and develop in software QA than just testing.

To be a competitive candidate in today’s job market, you also need to bring a lot more to the table than just testing!
