In 2021 I was hired as Customer Support for FR market in the company I work for. During the process, I was told that new systems will come, to reduce manual work and modernize the infrastructure, which was running on a misused bookkeeping that has became "ERP".
Took a year and half to see new website, new ecommerce backoffice, new WMS, new CRM, all starting at the same time. And it was a monumental failure.
Today in 2026, two years after I have been appointed the only QA Tester within the company, my goal is to prove implementing in-house testing capacities alongside with development capacities was definitely the right choice. I'll be in charge of testing the new proper ERP coming and because we all have been through the storm, I put a lot of pressure on myself to do it right and safe. It's critical for the company.
My goal is also to use this experience to reach a new path in my career because a junior would not do this sort of test management. As I'll get support from an external very experienced tester, I hope I'll be able to get lots of learning. It would be my first time working with a peer.
