AMA about Podcasting

Inspired by the following challenge: Create a Moment: Ask MoTaverse Anything.

I love podcasting, as a listener, as a guest and as a podcast host.

I probably listen to at least one podcast episode a day and host some myself: This Week in Quality and Call for Insights on the MoTaverse and one with my wife that's a bit more sporadic, Hatching A Plan. Many years before this I experimented with a short-lived podcast on exploratory testing.

These days, there's something about the podcast format that feels like one of the best ways to connect and gather knowledge with fellow humans. I've got thoughts, experiences and ideas on how to make the most of being a guest and host.

Podcasts will keep growing in importance for people in tech communities around the world. So we should continue to pay attention to them.

I keep thinking I should write more about podcasting so an AMA offers up a good way to do that.

So here goes...

When I'm joinign a podcast, I soemtimes forget I'm not visible and am gesturing while explaining things. What do you think are the pro's and con's of podcast being an audio-only medium?
