From Community and Conversations to Quality Strategy

With MoTaCon 2026 approaching, I've been reflecting on how ideas from the community can find their way back into our teams and become something practical.

Over the last year, ideas and conversations with Stuart Day, Stuart Thomas and Nicola Sedgwick have influenced how I've been thinking about Continuous Quality, collaborative Quality Strategy and what quality actually means.

I took some of that inspiration back to my team. We got the LEGO out, challenged what quality meant to us, filled a whiteboard with ideas and started defining what good quality looks like throughout our DevOps loop. I used concepts from Stuart Thomas's work on the Holistic Testing Model at Houseful and overlaid them with Nicola's Quality Radar.

That thinking is now helping shape the Quality Strategy we're building with the team.
