Roundtable: What is like to be a solo-quality-enforcer?
Join this session to swap stories, tactics and survival tips with other QA professionals who work solo.
Are you the only tester in your company? Maybe you’re the sole QA across several teams, covering every type of testing and coaching developers to take on more of it themselves.
That’s a lot for one person, and it often means you have nobody to sanity-check your approach.
This roundtable is for you. Poornima Nagesh has been the one-person QA army herself. She will be joined by Kyle Parris, who is about to step into a solo role in his new job, and he’s joining her to share what he’s learning as he starts.
We’ll aim to talk about:
- How to cover multiple teams without spreading yourself too thin
- Getting developers to own more of the testing and actually stick with it
- Deciding what to test when you can’t test everything
- Making quality visible when you’re the only person championing it
- Where to find support and sounding boards outside your organisation
This is a roundtable, not a talk. Bring your experiences, questions and hard-won lessons. Poornima will set the agenda from the topics attendees care about most, so tell us what you’d like to cover in Slack.
Whether you’ve been solo for years or you’re just getting started, come and meet the people who know exactly what it’s like.
