AI Assisted Exploratory Testing with Trowser

Trowser, the testing browser, is a freeware that enables more powerful exploratory testing by humans and AI.

In this session, Rikard Edgren the creator of Trowser, demonstrates how AI can be integrated into exploratory testing. Rikard defines exploratory testing as simultaneous learning, test design, and execution, emphasising its importance in exploring complex software beyond predefined requirements.

The presentation features a live walkthrough of Trowser, a specialised web browser built for testers that includes integrated test tools, such as accessibility checks, security scans, and browser compatibility tools. Rickard demonstrates how the tool uses LLMs through a chat interface to analyse page snapshots, execute JavaScript, and log bugs in a journal.

The session also includes a comparison between Trowser and Playwright, showcasing Trowser's efficiency for exploratory purposes through a live test on a site with planted bugs.
