I can hear you, Gary. Can you hear me?

Create Memory

A screenshot of a video conferencing or streaming interface. The interface is dark-themed with various controls and participant displays.

At the top left, there are two tabs, one labeled "Gary Hawkes mic test" and the other "Ministry of Testing". To the right of these tabs, there's a small "Unlisted" badge.

The right sidebar is titled "People" and has a section for "Host controls". Below that, there's a search bar labeled "Search people".

The "On Stage" section lists two participants:

"Simon MoTaverse" with a "HOST" badge below their name.

"Gary Hawkes".
Both have a three-dot menu icon next to their names. There's also a "Show More" button.

The main part of the screen displays two large video feeds or participant windows.

The left window shows a blurry orange graphic resembling a planet with rings. Below it, the name "Simon MoTaverse" is displayed, with a small green dot.

The right window shows a blurry image of a person's face (Gary Hawkes), wearing glasses. Below it, the name "Gary Hawkes" is displayed, also with a small green dot.

In the middle of the screen, there's a section with icons, including one that looks like two people and another with the text "WING".
In this memory: Simon Tomes Gary Hawkes

For those following along with Gary Hawkes' microphone woes on the This Week in Testing stage, you'll be pleased to know he's resolved the issue. 🎉

We ran a live test session on Crowdcast and eventually got things working.

A bit of back and forth.

I could hear him.

Then I couldn't.

Then he couldn't hear me.

And I could still hear him.

Fiddly mic input shenanigans refusing to connect to Gary's headset and instead defaulting to the microphone of the closed MacBook.

Open MacBook and et voilà.

So join us both for another episode of This Week in Testing. https://www.ministryoftesting.com/this-week-in-testings
