After the loss our last Guardian Cooper, we had a break as a point of respect and reflection on such a wonderful and dare I say unique dog. At the end of December, beginning of this year we started our search for a new Guardian from rescue dog centres.
Sighthounds get a bad rap, especially if they're retired racers. They're treated as livestock and abandoned when they're not longer competitive and there often misunderstood by adopters. One of the key misunderstandings is that they need a lot of exercise...far from it. So alas our first potential dog, was too troubled as it had spent its whole life in rescue centres and whilst we took our time trying to bond, he became overwhelmed in new surroundings and unfortunately the Dogs Trust and us agreed he wasn't ready for a home yet.
However, our next rescue was the perfect fit and has settled in instantly. Whilst we're still learning about each other, he has hit the ground running. Meet River, Guardian of the MoTaverse
