"This serves as a good reminder to you all. Your genAI history is forever. There is no Chatcognito." — Martin Hynie
Key points:
- AI chatbot logs and prompts are increasingly being treated as digital evidence rather than private, ephemeral interactions
- The ruling raises major questions about user privacy, cross-border data laws and how AI companies must respond to legal demands
- It brings into question the scope of data and the boundaries that will be created, legally, as users and as organisations
- There is no Chatcognito, there is no real privacy, and perhaps this applies to anything digital in today's world. All data is potential forever.
