I routinely update my in-house Slack job title to reflect the type of testing I’m currently focused on—usually with a mix of accuracy and humour. It serves as a lightweight, visible way to communicate what I’m working on without needing a status update or meeting.
Titles like “Finder of the Undocumented Error Codes” highlight the nature of the work (exploratory testing, edge cases, unexpected behaviours) while keeping things engaging for the team. It often sparks conversations, helps others understand where my attention is, and makes day-to-day testing feel a bit more human.
It’s a small habit, but it’s become an effective way to share context, show ownership of my work, and bring a bit of personality into a remote working environment.

This is a most excellent way of communicating things about our work :)
