Future of skills in an AI world
26 Jun 2026
I popped into Evolve, a local Brighton conference today. One session was on skills for an AI world. It touched upon employment, job hunting, education, university degrees, putting yourself out there…and generally how things have changed and it’s so much harder now for the younger generation to get a chance.
A few thoughts that popped:
A few thoughts that popped:
- The perspectives were from people who have had careers for 20-30 years, which were valid, but it made me think about the voices of the younger people, it would be good to hear from them directlyÂ
- There was the usual debate about whether university was worth the cost, and how career paths are rarely linear. There was even mention how the value of university was the people you meet and the community that you build along the way
- I actually think what we’re building on the MoTaverse is a real alternative to standing out and enhancing tech careers, this session made me feel good about it.
That is all!
