How to contribute to the MoTaverse
06 May 2026
As we build the MoTaverse, how we do things will continue to be tweaked and improved.
Professional Membership is required to submit suggestions to contribute. A big part of our shift is doubling down on serving professional members. This likely means we will have less submissions, but it should also mean that the quality improves too. Not only because we will have more committed people submitting, but also because Team MoTaverse will have more capacity to respond and support submissions.
Shorter feedback loops. As part of this, our goal is to get back to you quickly with an answer. Generally speaking, our goal is to give you an response in 7 days. There are some exceptions to this, mostly when submissions are related to in person events.
MoT Profiles are central to this. One of our goals is to help you fill up your MoT Profile. This is not an engagement strategy, rather it is one that allows us to get to know you. Instead of over relying on a submission and feeling like you need to sell yourself, your MoT profile should speak for itself. Partly as a bio, partly as a super quick access for us to know you. It turns out that it's very hard to make good and efficient decisions if we don't know anything about you. We hope that this will make the submission process more enjoyable for members too.
Just Go For It (JGFI): The MoTaverse is a platform, as a Professional Member you don't always need our permission, you can JGFI. This means, with a Professional Membership, you can create Moments, Ask MoTaverse Anything, mark yourself as Open To (via MyMoT), share a link in The Observatory, or drop into TWiQ and join the stage.

There are paid opportunities too. We still pay for contributions, but not all contributions. We've tried and continue to find a balance that works for everyone. Paid opportunities have a 💰 emoji next to them.
There are also many different ways to contribute. Human beings are designed in different ways. We love virtual talks and conference talks, but times have changed, and accommodating learning and sharing styles is important too. For example, we've found podcasts and conversations great for sharing in a more inclusive and less stressful way. Or starting a Chapter can be an incredible career growth strategy. We continue to explore these and other types of contributions in a way to become more creative and inclusive. The list of ways to contribute can be found on our Contribute page. They are continuously updated.
Thanks for reading and we hope you will consider submitting to contribute!
