It has been a minute since I shared a 'how-to' related to digital #accessibility, so I've put that right with a new blog post for WonderProxy called "How to test with a screen reader".
One of the most common things I hear in conversations on #a11y is, 'I don't know where to start'. So I'm hoping this post will help with that.
As well as covering the most common tools out there, I explain what screen readers read out to you. Give an example use case of a simple login screen. Then I share a few tips I've classed as 'hard-earned,' including a slightly embarrassing story of me, my phone, a screen reader, and getting strange looks from a train carriage.
Interested? Curious? Want to know how embarrassed? Go have a read.
