"I'm unlearning to remind people to do things."
Jesper said this in reference to his kids getting older and it's relevant to how we work with colleagues as we progress to becoming individual contributors and/or people managers.
I reflect that there's a real skill to develop when it comes to letting go whilst still keeping on top of things. Providing guidance without nagging. Inspiring without patronising. Bing aware without knowing all the details. That kind of thing.
Feels like self-awareness, systems and care are what matter. I think self-awareness + systems + care allow us to let go.
