A Year Ago, I Came Looking for Opportunities. This Year, I’m Coming Back with Stories to Tell. ❤️
Last year, I walked into TestBash Brighton 2025 (now MoTacon) after a long parenting break, looking for a job, a fresh start, and perhaps a little confidence.
Last year, I walked into TestBash Brighton 2025 (now MoTacon) after a long parenting break, looking for a job, a fresh start, and perhaps a little confidence.
Little did I know how much that one event would change my life!
From delivering my 99-second talk and receiving an unexpected response and a freelance opportunity, to landing my current role, attending London Tech Week and other conferences, and eventually speaking at the MoT London Chapter and BCS Summer Conference — so much has changed in just one year!
But the biggest change has been within me. I found my confidence, stepped out of my comfort zone, built meaningful connections, and realised I wasn't alone in this journey.
And now, I'm heading back to MoTacon, not as the same person who attended last year, but with a whole new set of experiences, achievements, and dreams.
This time, though, there's another first to navigate: leaving my little one for two days. Excited and grateful, but also a little emotional. I guess this is another real-life test case, and one I'm still preparing for! ❤️
Same community, same excitement, but a completely different chapter.
Grateful to everyone who has been part of my journey, believed in me, encouraged me, and opened doors along the way.
Here's to growth, unexpected opportunities, new beginnings, and the people who make the journey worthwhile.
