When LEGO tells you a story about yourself

It was my second time attending Leading with Quality and it couldn't have started in a better way: Stu started us off with his enganging workshop "Story Telling: bringing Quality to life" and oh did it bring quality to my life!
One of the activities was to build a LEGO structure that resembles Quality. I went through the available pieces and quickly realized that there were no floor plates left for me to choose from. In my opinion, one must-have for achieving good quality is a solid base, and since I couldn't find mine, I was blocked.
But luckily I was sitting next to the amazing Gary, who was building a colorful and inviting swimming pool. I offered my help and together we created a unique image of quality: A sunny day at the pool that was just filled with fresh water at just the right temperature, with a brandnew diving board to practice your perfect cannon balls, and some fancy stained glass walls to enjoy the privacy and security you deserve.
What this experience taught me about myself:

What this experience taught me about myself:
- I enjoy helping others more than just focusing on my own goals: I didn't stop or got frustrated when I couldn't finish the assignment on my own. Instead I looked around me and took the opportunity to help others.
- I can help the people around me to see the missing pieces: A pool with no water is no fun for anyone. With my attention to detail I can identify the gaps and help others to see it as well.
- I am struggling to be creative on the spot. I often overthink and get anxious that my result will be disappointing. Often enough though, ideas come floating after I had some time to reflect. I am the most creative when I write.

It was a pleasure to be alongside you Nadja and thank you for making my pool, a cool pool. 🫶
