Wins of the week Friday 22nd of May 26

22 May 2026

Starting last Friday, I have started asking questions to help in my struggling efforts to write a book on how we approach thinking in our craft. My first question was on potential titles, with 'Thinking in Testing: Harnessing the power of deliberate thought' getting the most interest. There's a collection called Ady asks the MoTaverse that you can check out.

I came across an old talk on accessibility, "Accessibility, Assumptions and Arguments," which I shared as a satellite. It was one where I started by asking those who are able to stand up, then asked 4 questions. The audience sits down if the question applies to them. I captured this in a moment that asks, 'Who are we designing software for?'

Attended a great GAAD (Global Accessibility Awareness Day) discussion at Channel 4's new headquarters in Leeds. I had some great conversations too. Finally, I added a definition for Dark Patterns. A horrible practice that needs calling out when you see it.

I'm having a family party for my upcoming landmark birthday, and after being let down, I managed to find a new catering option.

Simon and I jammed on cleaning up the design of MoT Profiles, we're pretty excited to see where it's going. Also, TWiQ was great, so many ideas on clean code and design, I challenged myself and others to create moments about it, I managed to do it, as others did too.
