Write about something you’re enjoying right now

21 Apr 2026

A pessimist, optimist and realist are talking about writing.

Optimist: I love writing. It's the best way to help me articulate my thoughts and ideas. And there's so much to write about given all the things I'm enjoying in the tech industry right now. I tend to find my writing is easier if I'm excited about the subject because it comes pretty naturally. My challenge is that I've got so many things I'm enjoying right now that I don't know where to start. It will be fun to pick any starting point because there are no wrong choices.

Pessimist: That's easy for you to say. Why would anyone want to hear from me? I've not got much to share. While I might be enjoying how Claude is helping our team, I'm not sure people want to hear me bang on about it! Everyone is different and my context is different to someone else's so there's not much point writing it up. I'd only mess it up and cause confusion.

Realist: Ok, that all sounds important. How about we start by answering these questions. What did you enjoy recently that you could write about? What did you recently learn about or attend that piqued your interest? What was it about the particular thing you enjoyed? Time to start drafting something, do our best to ship it without overthinking and see what happens. We don't know if it will land, but we'll only find out by publishing it.

Yet while we can write about something we're enjoying right now, there's plenty of things to worry about. And a worry can go a long way to fuelling a piece a writing. Our three writers will share more about that in a Moment.
