An approach to software testing where a team of AI agents autonomously explores an application, generates test cases, executes them, identifies defects, and reports results, without requiring a human to write or run each test. The agents operate continuously and in parallel, handling the long tail of testing work so that human testers can focus on areas requiring judgement, user empathy, or contextual knowledge. Agentic testing is designed to augment quality teams rather than replace them, and typically includes a human supervision layer for reviewing what the agents have done and guiding their focus.
