Application-Level Testing

Application-Level Testing image
Testing that targets the compiled, running application in its real environment, as distinct from testing at the level of individual units of code. Application-level testing covers end-to-end workflows, cross-browser and cross-OS behaviour, real API endpoints, and the full user experience above the code layer. It is typically carried out by quality engineers rather than developers, and is designed to verify that the assembled application behaves correctly for real users rather than that individual code components behave correctly in isolation.
