Conversational Testing is intentionally showing up for a conversation instead of relying on tickets or asynchronous collaborative chat tools. It happens between a tester/QA/QE person and a developer, product person or any other discipline, via a video call or in-person.
The conversation helps clarify ambiguities and often leads to questions that weren't considered prior to the conversation. While it might sound similar to pairing it's not necessarily task-focused and the goal is to build good working relationships with colleagues. Conversational Testing is built on respect for each other and an attempt to understand each other's position when exploring issues, features and unknowns together.
