Spear Vishing

Spear Phishing is a highly targeted and difficult to prevent form of Phishing where emails or messages may be tailored to catch a particular victim. The book “People Hacker” by Jenny Radcliffe describes a spear phishing example whereby she sent an email pretending to be headhunters with documents labelled “non-disclosure agreement” attached. She describes how, even if they are happy in their position, curiosity takes over and they nearly always open the NDA so they can find out about the job, but more importantly, to find out who recommended them. (…) Every single one of them had exposed their organisation to potential malicious software and given access to their systems.
