Talk Description

Accessibility testing ensures that digital products, such as websites and apps, are usable by everyone. While it is a broad and complex subject with a lot to learn, accessibility testing can be as simple as ensuring that everything can be accessed and operated using a keyboard.

One of the key standards in this area is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Automated accessibility tools can help you check for issues such as missing alt text, contrast problems, or structural errors on a page. But these tools aren’t perfect. They can produce false positives, and they don’t understand context, so human thinking is always needed alongside them.

In this 404 Talk, Ady Stokes walks us through three different automated accessibility tools and explains how they work and what they do.
