Leading a Test Automation Strategy

with Dana Aonofriesei

What You'll Learn

By the end of this workshop you'll be able to:

  • List or describe test automation goals.
  • Create a test automation strategy by the end of the workshop.
  • Examine a test automation pipeline.
  • Identify resources needed to implement your test automation.

About This Workshop

The inspiration for this workshop is backed up by my personal experience, driven by the desire for fast results, I lost sight of other aspects so critical in developing and implementing a test automation strategy with success. As a leader in this area, there are more aspects to take into consideration, planning for, mitigate or communicate with tactfulness. For example: framing and communicating clear goals, engaging stakeholders and understanding if the organization is ready for the changes you want to see in action.

Let’s grab a pen and paper and start!
1st, we will walk through a series of steps that will give you tools to briefly assess the current context within your team/organization. This will create the base for developing a test automation strategy and to decide and frame the goals. 2nd, we will break down a test automation pipeline in smaller chunks which we will review and set goals for (a simplified test automation pipeline: Test scenarios--Execution--Test results).

As this is a working session where we will reflect, draw and write, by the end of the workshop everyone should have one blueprint that could serve in your future challenges or as a reflection tool.

The workshop is suitable for current or future leaders and individual contributors as well.
