Dicen que una de las tareas más difíciles en software es nombrar las cosas. Pues en el mundo del testing, esto se complica todavía más cuando tenemos un montón de nombres para conceptos que se parecen muchísimo. Tenemos unit, integration, acceptance, end to end, system, black box, penetration, security, performance, load... y un largo etcétera. La pregunta es: ¿Tenemos claro lo que significan? ¿O tenemos nuestro propio "multiverso" de definiciones?

Organizaremos una charla cooperativa, en la que pondremos a prueba nuestras definiciones usando ejemplos concretos. Haremos el ejercicio de comprobar si, incluso cuando creemos tener los conceptos claros, usamos el mismo nombre para el mismo test.

El objetivo final es buscar un lenguaje común. Queremos detectar esas sutiles diferencias entre cada término para poder comunicarnos con más claridad, sin importar el "multiverso" (o el equipo) en el que vivas.

They say one of the hardest things in software is naming things. Well, in the world of testing, this gets even more complicated when we have a bunch of names for concepts that look almost the same. We’ve got unit, integration, acceptance, end-to-end, system, black box, penetration, security, performance, load… and the list goes on.

The question is: do we really know what they mean? Or do we each have our own “multiverse” of definitions?

We’ll organize a collaborative talk where we’ll put our definitions to the test using concrete examples. We’ll challenge ourselves to see if, even when we think we understand the concepts clearly, we’re actually using the same name for the same kind of test.

The ultimate goal is to find a common language — to identify those subtle differences between each term so we can communicate more clearly, no matter which “multiverse” (or team) you live in.
