In this first episode of This Week in Community (TWiC), hosts Rosie Sherry and Simon Tomes kick off a new weekly conversation for community professionals. Building on their experience running This Week in Quality, they talk about why these regular, human conversations matter more than ever in a world shaped by AI. 

Guest Lori Goldman joins to share the blog posts she's writing about why people misunderstand community, her thoughts on metrics, and her cautious take on AI tools. The conversation also covers spam bots and small automations that save time, the importance of boundaries and "layers of care," and why community work needs to be owned from the top. 

Along the way they explore the skills community professionals need now: systems thinking, critical thinking, creativity, resilience, and a willingness to be audacious and just go for it.
