I haven’t really set goals since 2022. I set themes instead.
2025 was about exploration. Saying yes to things I would normally avoid. Doing at least one thing every month that I’d usually say no to.
That led to some very unexpected outcomes. From taking a trip to a completely random place that’s now a core memory, to becoming a DJ for a night and getting booed after I forgot song names 😅. I also ran a bunch of experiments to fix my allergies, something I had mentally parked for the next two years, and ended up resolving most of it much earlier. Health-wise, things are a lot better now. I listened to many audiobooks, tried a lot of different coffees and did a hell lots of trips.
Professionally too, I explored a lot. Writing with MoT was one of those favourite experiments. It keeps me on edge, in a good way. One of the coolest pieces I wrote was on my mentor. That one was hard. I don’t usually write that kind of stuff. But that’s exactly why it’s special, and it’ll always remain special to me.
Coming to 2026. The theme would be clarity.
2024 was confusing.
2025 was exploration.
2026 is about closing certain loops. Clearing some of the confusion and making a few deliberate calls.
In our team at my office, we frame it like this:
- One thing I want to change in 2026: articulate better
- One thing I want to add in 2026: contribute more to MoT. Because I enjoy working with them.
- One thing I want to remove in 2026: ignoring calls when I get them :P. I would pick calls now i think
