A photograph of the Promenade of Brighton Seafront. In the picture there is a pavement with a cycle lane. To the right of the pavement are green railings and a lamp post and then a beach and the sea. At the back of the photograph is a pier and to the right there is a beach and the sea. It is dusk and the sky in the picture is clear.

In less than a weeks time I will be making the short journey down the coast to Brighton for TestBash 2025!

On my most recent count I believe this will be the 7th time I've been able to come to a TestBash conference in Brighton. Its hard to believe that my first was way back in 2013 for TestBash2 in Brighton.

For me last years conference was an important opportunity for me to get involved in the Test Community once again after quite some time away. I will admit that last year did present a bit more of a challenge for me, as my mobility isn't as great as it used to be so I was a bit concerned about getting around the venue and getting to the various meetups. However any nerves were put to rest by the amazing friendliness and helpfulness of the MoT crew, event ambassadors, the testers I connected with and the extremely helpful and understanding Brighton Dome staff. It was so cool that Rosie decided to bring it back to Brighton!

Of course this was only really the start of a twelve months where I've been dipping my toes back into the testing community! For me it has been about just getting involved again where I have had the time and the energy, but I have really enjoyed all of the on-line events I have joined. For me the highlights have been the recent Software Testing Live sessions hosted by Ben Dowen and listening (and on a couple of occasions participating in) the excellent This Week in Quality podcasts on most Friday's throughout the past year. Another cool pretty cool thing was being awarded a Mot Community Certificate earlier in the summer for my contributions. Thank-you to all of the MoT team for providing us with such an excellent platform and for always being there to support us.

I'm very much looking forward to this years conference, meeting and old faces and connecting in person with the cool folks I've enjoyed listening to and learning from over the last year. See you next week!

I've been testing for 20+ years with experience in Exploratory Testing and tools such as CI/CD, Bruno and Postman. I'm a self-taught pianist and enjoy writing and recording my own music.

It will be good to see you again, and of course, if there is anything we can do from an accessibility perspective, do let us know.
