Demi Van Malcot asked "What is for you the most difficult thing about doing quality assistance?" in AMA about transitioning to Quality Assistance model.

At first it was hard to find my feet into in the process. The role requires a lot of proactiveness, facilitation and breadth of knowledge. I had to learn a lot how to be ok with ambiguities, the role can be different every day. I had to learn to adapt quickly even though it was uncomfortable. I failed a lot and I had to learn how to let it go and keep improving.

Later on the challenge was turning my contribution into valuable assets people would understand. Things like - I facilitate the planning session was not enough anymore. I needed to learn how to communicate the impact.

Overall, it's transition that was difficult. From "prescribed" QA who had In Test column to gradually becoming an engineer who had autonomy and freedom to do anything and to make the team successful. Once you settle in, you've got so much confidence, learnings and space to expand your role and expertise.
