Building to Tell a Story

30 Sep 2026

In this moment: Stu Day
The very first talk at Leading With Quality Today was an interactive session where Stu Day talked about Storytelling and Bringing quality to live.

I really enjoyed his session and the various discussions we participated in as a group on our table.

The first exercise required us to build something out of Lego and then tell a story to describe it.  This was a cool and fun activity and he invited some of us to show what we had created and share the story behind it.

Mine was a simple coloured structure where I put quality at the centre represented by a wheel and then coloured blocks where each was a key area that has an interaction with quality.  So that could be areas of the business such as developers & test engineers, sales, product management and support. On one of the blocks there is specifically two small bricks facing outwards that also represent the importance of the customer in quality, their expectations and their perception of quality.
