It's not. It's a cage with good branding. Every time AI pauses and waits for your approval, your click, your review, your sign-off, and you just became the bottleneck. Andrej Karpathy already said this last month.
If this continues, soon you will find people not collaborating with AI but throttling it.

Are you directing AI, or are you just approving (reviewing) it?
Because those are two completely different jobs, and only one of them has a good future in the long term.

I never felt Human in the Loop was enough.
I've previously used Quality in the Loop as terms instead. I'm not quite sure that is right, but at least it was better than the human version :)
