Last night I had the opportunity to debut pixelmesh, a personal side project I’ve been building, at the Ministry of Testing London meetup.

The demo worked, but what interested me most was everything around it.

Different devices behaved differently. Some phones were harder to detect than others. Android brightness limiting made an appearance. People connected and disappeared. Assumptions that seemed perfectly reasonable during development suddenly met reality.

It was a great reminder that when building AI and vision systems, the challenge isn’t just the model. The challenge is everything around it.

Thanks Adam, it was super engaging program. The live demo to detect our handsets was just the starting point - later having rainbow light magic, colour themes, playing games - tap tap tap were stealing the show. Of course, the video covering behind the scenes - the set you have at home to build and test the system did not seem to be easy to build. Great one - Kudo to you !!
