The ITC Model: Three ways to learn, and why balancing them matters
08 Jun 2026
Learning shows up everywhere. Participating in the MoTaverse takes many forms, from reading an insight, watching a talk, picking up a lesson in a course and much more.
The catch. Starting, and showing up continually, can be tricky when you learn by yourself.
The solution. Learn with your team and the community. Introducing the ITC Model:
The solution. Learn with your team and the community. Introducing the ITC Model:
- Individual learning. You browse or search for insights, talks, take courses and join events. Explore on your own, at your own pace.
- Team learning. You share key learnings with your work colleagues. Drop a link to what you’ve read or watched in your team channel and pick one thing to try together to make sense of it. Go to events and conferences together, online or in person.
- Community learning. You ask questions and share your knowledge beyond your organisation, with the community. Connect in chat, in podcasts, in Roundtables, in Call for Insights, and much more.
Know which mode you lean on. This is the real value. Individual, team and community learning are all valid, and most of us favour one without noticing. Spot your default, then balance all three so learning can radiate back and forth, sparking new insights and conversations.
Systems thinking. The relationship between you, your colleagues and the community is strong, and it matters more than ever. When you learn in the open, you model learning for everyone around you. AI can be a handy companion, yet your real career companions are found in yourself, your team and the community. The MoTaverse is a tech community that has everything you and your colleagues need to grow a career in tech.
