Changes to Abstract Reviews

Find out what has changed with the abstract reviews

Changes to Abstract Reviews image

We’re making the comment section in each abstract review mandatory.

Why are we doing this?

We’ve listened to our community members who submit abstracts to our TestBashes as we’ve seen a great increase in reviews with no comments, which in most cases, makes us and the contributor question why a score was given. In many cases some abstracts have an even mix of green, yellow and red reviews, making it difficult to know why one would like to listen to that talk, but another wouldn't.

Making the comments to an abstract review mandatory, will not only help contributors understand where their abstract is strong or where it might need improving, it will also help us choose the best lineup for each TestBash.

We understand that this might reduce the number of reviews, as it can take a little longer to review each abstract, but we know that each review will be more informative and helpful.

Another minor change is that you will now be able to see (example below), which TestBash an abstract is being proposed for, giving you a context for your review.
