What's a MoTaverse profile page?
A MoTaverse profile page is a public page that shows who you are and what you do. It's a place to document how you show up to learn and contribute. Your profile grows as you grow. Show up and contribute, and the page takes care of itself. A profile page supports your 1-2-1s, performance reviews and career opportunities.
Why the change?
The previous profile page could feel a bit shouty and overwhelming, particularly when there were lots of items and badges. It served the community well, especially for those who like to share their badges and star counts. But it was time for a proper review. Nothing has been lost in the process, your stars, badges and history are all still here, just presented in a calmer way.
The new version is built to represent you clearly and to encourage you and others to find ways to contribute. To feel familiar, it puts the emphasis on Moments (blog posts) and takes inspiration from popular blog sites. It also makes it simpler to find everything you've been up to as every section links to its own dedicated and shareable page, like the events you're attending soon and a history of your past events. And when you land on someone else's profile, it's easier to see what they're up to too.
How do I see my new profile?
- Log into the MoTaverse
- Select your profile at the top right
- Select your name or "View profile"
Will my existing profile link still work?
Yes. Any links you've already shared, on your CV/Resume, LinkedIn or anywhere else, still point to your profile.
Can I view someone else's profile?
Yes, and we encourage it. You'll find links to profiles on profile cards across the site. Or just search for someone's name.
I'm new here. What's a quick way to fill up my profile?
Your profile now offers tips on how to get started. Plus, we've increased the character limit of the description section. Use that space to tell people about you: your work history, what you're working on, the skills you have and the tools you use. Even if you're not just starting out, make the most of the 1,999 character limit. Go and showcase yourself in your own words.
How can I ask questions and share feedback?
Looks for the thread in the 10_release_notes channel on the MoTaverse Slack.
Do I get a star for sharing feedback?
Yes. Thanks for taking a look. We hope it becomes a good home for everything you've been up to and all the ways you’ll show up in the future.
