AMA about transition from Manual to Automation Testing

29 Mar 2026

Inspired by the following challenge: Create a Moment: Ask MoTaverse Anything.

We have often seen that many of us who test the software to ensure quality of the product are trapped in the manual testing. Few of us want to learn and step into automation but they are unsure how to step out of manual testing and from where to start.

Sometimes, we feel like time is the constraint or we never got chance to work in our organisation and so we are not able to learn automation. Sometimes, we know automation but we are in hurry to finish the task and end up finishing task manually. Few of us tried to book the workshop but failed to attend it because we were so occupied in our regular works.

I have been through all these. I also started my journey as a Manual tester and gradually stepped into Automation world. Initial days were hard but slowly I learnt about the pattern, what works in which environment and how to go on smoothly.

I can share some tips and ideas how to step into the automation - where to start, what tools to choose and how to move ahead. Small practices makes big differences. So if you feel like you want to learn automation but unsure how to come out of your day to day QA activities, please feel free to ask any questions and I will try to help you with solutions.
