In your experience, what are some of the ways/ parameters / statistics / examples which can be shown as examples working towards Quality which is beyond correctness?
If I understand this question correctly, there are two parts:
- What can we do to start moving towards quality beyond correctness?
- How can we tell whether our product is of good quality beyond correctness?
One way we can start moving towards quality beyond correctness is by focusing on value and impact. A product may be technically "correct", but does it benefit users / customers / stakeholders in any way? How will people / businesses / society be impacted if we (don't) fix this? Are we building this just because we can, or will it actually solve a problem that people care about?
As for how we can tell whether our product is of good quality beyond correctness, there are internal, external, active, and passive actions we can take. An example of an internal, active action could be simply testing for quality beyond correctness. We can also use different personas to help us view and assess quality from different perspectives. An example of an external, passive action could be looking at public sentiments and reviews about the product. Other activities include looking at net promoter scores (NPS) and even "eating your own dog food" to gather internal feedback from real-world usage.
Thanks for your question, Ashutosh!
