What questions can we explore to help the team build the right thing?
I love that this question focusses on building the right thing, as that's a big part of quality and contributor to adding value. Here are some questions I might start with:
- What's the problem we're trying to solve?
- What are users trying to achieve, and how would this help them do that?
- What potential solutions have already been tried; what worked and didn't, and why?
- What trade-offs would we be making with this solution; which risks would remain or be created?
- How might the problem be solved without using software?
That last question might be a surprising one for some. However, we must remember that the most appropriate and valuable solution to a problem isn't always software. We can help our users / customers / stakeholders find a quicker, more effective solution, by opening up our thinking beyond our product.
Thanks for your question, Rosie!

What an excellent set of questions. Nice one, Cassandra.
And that last question is quality right there. 🤩
