Sana Nawaz
I’m a Senior QA Engineer with 12+ years in testing, most recently five years at Booking.com as the sole QA in a cross-functional team. Before that I tested government services at DWP, banking platforms at Barclays, and Heathrow’s baggage handling system at Babcock (I finally understand how my suitcase ends up on the right plane!).
I love getting involved early: asking the “what if” questions before anything is built, and making quality something the whole team owns. My favourite areas are exploratory testing, API testing and accessibility. I ran WCAG audits and accessibility advocacy at Booking.com, and helped cut accessibility issues by 40%. I also tested a generative AI review-summary feature, which got me hooked on how we test AI.
Right now I’m growing my automation and development skills with Playwright, TypeScript, JavaScript and Python, and I start an MSc in Computer Science with AI at the University of York in January 2027.
I’m based in Greater Manchester and open to QA and automation roles. Always happy to chat about accessibility, AI testing or moving from QA into development!

Here are a few ways you can help them get started:-
Tag them in a Moment. Think of a Moment as a blog post. Mention
in one of yours so they see they're already part of the conversation. - Invite them to an Event. There are plenty of online and in-person events to choose from. A shared event is an easy way to connect.
- Credit them in The Observatory. Share a link they pointed you to, or one they'd value. A small nod goes a long way.
- Suggest they comment on a Session, Moment or Insight. Commenting is a good way to find your voice. Give them a reason to jump in.
- Point them to the Glossary. Suggest a term they could add, or their take on one. Everyone has an interpretation worth sharing.
- Bring them into a Chapter. These are topic and location-based spaces for members to gather. Help them find their people.
